Welcome, y'all!

Okay, so I think that this should be my official first post. The other one was really just a test anyway, right?

As is true for most people, I'm keeping this blog to keep friends up to date with my goings-on. I'll mostly be talking about my knitting. What are blogs for, if not for sharing obsessions, right? But I guess I'll probably write about other stuff every once in a while as well. I'll just try to remember the title of a book I once saw: Nobody wants to hear what you ate for breakfast. ;-)

So, as for what I'm up to right now:

This is the beginnings of the swing cardigan in the summer issue of Vogue Knitting. I know it's not currently that interesting, but there's not much I can say for that right now. It seems to have a tendency to curl at the bottom, despite the garter stitch border. I'm hoping that a combination of blocking and finishing will tame that down. I don't think it will ever be really flat, but it'll probably work out alright. I hope so: it's darn expensive yarn. This project is my celebratory yarn splurge after being offered an awesome job. The yarn is Zara, a merino wool by Filatura di Crosa. Saying it's Italian makes it sound fancy, doesn't it?

My fun little stashbuster of the moment is making squares for the Rebuilding Greensburg Project. Here's what I've got so far:

So, this is the start of a grand tradition, no? No. But it's something.

Love y'all!

You're too damn cute, ya know that. I love the color of the cardigan! I'm sure it will be beautiful since everything you make is beautiful.

Love ya!

Hooray! Congratulations on your new blog - I hope you have a long and happy blogging experience! :)

Thanks so much for knitting these beautiful squares for the Greensburg afghan project - we'll be so happy and grateful to receive them.

And as a knitter you should know we totally want to know what you had for breakfast. That's what makes things interesting. Life isn't all about knitting ya know. :)
